ANNOTATION EDITING - ADVANCED EDIT MODE EXAMPLE

Annotations extend hotspot functionality with the addition of points of interest (POIs) and notes, and much more. This example demonstrates the more advanced editing mode enabled with the HTML parameter zEditMode=1.

Rather than simply using a click-add, click-add approach, this mode presents Add and Edit buttons, and after one of those is clicked, Cancel, Save, and Delete buttons. This provides a more formal editing process to complement the more complete set of fields and features this more advanced mode presents.

Note that Labels and Notes are associated with a particular POI - and only indirectly with each other. For most uses the simpler Markup Mode with Comments is preferred, however, if more complicated annotation data is to be recorded, this mode will be of interest.

This interface is XML-based for optimal web access but can be modified to integrate directly with popular databases to leverage security controls, multiuser record management, and other database benefits.
